Sub-standard material in construction of Pendra-Basantpur road

Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Jun 03: The construction of 8 km road from Pendra to Basantpur by PWD has fallen prey to corruption and the construction is being done by the contractor Anil Buildcon Private Limited. As per the estimate, it was required to first take out earlier constructed BT pitch road and make the road plain to do WMM work. But in this road from old SBI to Arpa originating bridge and from Amarpur to Railway Crossing Sarkhor, without removing BT road soil work was done. PWD officials entered into an unholy alliance with the contractor and increased soil work to benefit the concerned contractor. WMM work is also done not as per the standard protocol. The villagers have protested against the sub-standard construction but the persons of contractors are terrorising the villagers.
PWD EE is not making available any information or documents under RTE when asked by public representatives and even misbehave with general people coming to his office. No probe has been initiated even after several complaints about the road.
