Passenger reaches Raipur in another flight
Raipur, Mar 14: An IndiGo Hyderabad-Raipur flight 6E 334 aircraft had to return to make an emergency landing at Hyderabad within 15 minutes soon after taking off on Wednesday after a reported engine failure. The Raipur bound plane landed safely and all 110 passengers on board are safe. The passengers after boarding new flight from Hyderabad departed at 2.30 pm and reached Raipur at 3.30 pm.
It is notable that IndiGo and GoAir cancelled another 70 flights on Tuesday — a day after the airlines had to ground 11 planes following the aviation regulator’s order on this — because of a recurring malfunction in engines. The problem stems from a component in certain engines manufactured by Pratt and Whitney (PW), which can show early signs of wear, and is located in an area that must withstand high pressure. This includes two flights of Chhattisgarh as well. The Kochi-Raipur Indigo’s flight via Hyderabad after takeoff from Kochi at 8.20 am reached Hyderabad at 10 am. The flight took off from Hyderabad Airport to Raipur at 10.30 am after which the pilot experienced technical glitch with its engine. The flight crew carried out actions as per SOP and landed back at Hyderabad Airport following precautionary measures within 15 minutes.
Arrangements were made to send the passengers by another flight to Raipur. The new flight took off from Hyderabad at 2.30 pm and reached here at 3.30 pm. It again took off to Hyderabad at 4 pm to reach Kochi. The flight on daily schedule reaches Swami Vivekanand Airport at 11.45 am and departs to Hyderabad at 12.15 am. The flight has 110 passengers on board which includes passenger from Hyderabad and Kochi to Raipur.
