Third accused in the Newai firing incident arrested from Bihar

Bhilai, Sep 17: Police have succeeded in arresting the third accused of the Newai firing incident from Parvalpur area of District Nalanda (Bihar). With this all the three accused of this incident have been booked who had absconded after creating sensation in the area twice by using fire arms. Addressing media persons here at Police Control Room on Friday, ASP (City) Sanjay Kumar Dhruw informed that three unknown ruffians had opened fire on a listed offender Pinky Rai alias Brijesh Rai at Tanki Maroda area of Newai Police Station on the intervening night of July 05, 2021.
A case was lodged under Section 307 of IPC and Section 25, 27 of Arms Act. During investigation, police had managed to arrest the prime accused Mukul Sona from Nalanda (Bihar) and had recovered two nos WiFi Router, Country made pistol, Rounds, Maruti 800 Car, Motor Cycle Pulsar, etc from him on July 27, 2021. Later the second accused Mukesh Singh alias Panchar was arrested on August 11, 2021. At present both the accused are detained in the Central Jail, Durg. The third accused in the case, Nagender Kumar, who hails from Bihar, was absconding after committing the crime. In the meanwhile, the police received a tip off that the accused Nagender Kumar was seen in police station Parwalpur of District Nalanda in Bihar. Acting on this tip off, a team was sent to Bihar on the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police (Durg) Badri Narayan Meena; Additional Superintendent of Police (Durg City) Sanjay Dhruv and City Superintendent of Police (Bhilai Nagar) Rakesh Joshi. The team of Durg Police reached Bihar and, after getting the support of local Police managed to trap the accused Nagender Kumar (21) son of Nandu Prasad. He was arrested on September 15 from village Pilich, PS Parwalpur, District Nalanda (Bihar). The accused was produced before the Court in Hilsa, Nalanda and was brought to Durg on transit remand. Later, the accused was produced before Durg Court from where the accused was given in Police Remand. Cops are interrogating him further about the pistol and cartridges used in the crime. Inspector Santosh Mishra, Assistant Sub Inspector Gangaram Yadav, Constable Ravi Bisai, Jugnu Singh and Nilesh Verma played vital role in arresting the accused.
