Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today said that entire nation including Chhattisgarh salutes the martyrdom of the valiant Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans at the hands of Left-Wing Extremists’ (LWE) violence at Kistaram in district Sukma on Thuesday. The jawans had sacrificed their lives for the sake of development works in the backward region of the State. Dr. Raman Singh was speaking at the Raipur -based Chhattisgarh Armed Force’s Fourth Battalion premises. He paid tributes to the martyrs of Naxalites’ violence .
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh added that the sacrifices of the brave nine jawans will not only be remembered by Chhattisgarh but also by the entire nation. The security forces are fighting a tough battle to root out Naxalites’ menace from the State in its entirety. The morale of the jawans is very high. The citizens of the State had taken a vow to end the extremists’ menace soon. The State will respond appropriately if the ultras’ continue their violence. Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir also paid floral tributes to the slain jawans. Ahir added that there is better co-ordination between the Central-State forces in meeting the Left-Wing extremists (LWE) challenge head-on. The Union Government is monitoring the situation closely along with Chhattisgarh State.
Dr. Raman Singh expressed his sympathies to the members of the bereaved families in the time of extreme tragedy. The pain of the suffering families is felt by all concerned. The families have lost a dear member and the nation lost a valiant son. Chief Minister said that jawans are fighting a tough battle in Bastar division and in particular district Sukma to implement the developmental works in the remote regions. The martyrs of the Left-Wing extremists (LWE) are doing the same job as that of the jawans on the Indo-Pakistan borders. Their sacrifices are in no way less of soldiers on the Siachen borders.
Chief Minister said that the morale of the jawans is very high and they are determined to put an end to Naxalites’ menace. The State Government is determined to keep the morale of the forces high. The ultras are failing on all fronts. Network of roads is being laid in backward Sukma. Chief Minister assured that the laying of crucial roads will be completed in another four months’ period. The laying of roads till Kota and Bhopalpatnam will be over soon. The road had been laid till Injram.
Dr. Raman Singh added that the challenging task of laying network of roads is being done with the active assistance of forces and hence the Naxalites are attacking them. He always tours the region at regular intervals. The time is ripe to end the ultras’ violence. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh also paid homage to the martyred jawans. Ahir arrived here last night and paid homage to the valiant jawans. State Home Minister Ramsevak Paikra, Tribals’ Development Minister Kedar Kashyap, Women and Child Development Minister Ramsheela Sahu, Forest Minister Mahesh Gaagda, MLA Mohan Markam, Chief Secretary Ajay Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Home Department B.V.R.Subrahmanyam and several senior police officials were also present.
