State govt commitment to simplification of process of services related to general public: Baghel

Raipur, Aug 17: Chhattisgarh government is committed towards simplifying and improving the process of services related to the general public, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said while addressing public dedication ceremony of new sub registrar office in Sector-29 of Nava Raipur through video conferencing from his residential office here today.
With the start of registration office in Nava Raipur, people of total 41 villages will get the facility of registration in 6 villages of Nava Raipur, 20 of Arang and 15 villages of Abhanpur block. Under existing arrangements they have to cover 40 kilometer distance to reach Raipur for registration and now with the opening of new sub registrar office at Nava Raipur, their time and labour would be saved, Baghel said. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the digital e-stamp services and works of scanning and digitization of backlog documents of registration department and talked to Rekha Kosle of Parsada village who reached the sub registrar office for registration. Mrs Kosle informed Chief Minister that she was buying a 962 square feet plot in Mandir Hasoud. Registration documents were handed over to Mrs Kosle at the programme. Revenue Minister Jaisingh Agrawal joined video conferencing from Korba. Parliamentary secretary commercial tax (registration) Indershah Mandavi, CM’s additional chief secretary Subrat Sahoo, secretary commercial tax Niranjan Das, inspector general registratin and stamp Iffat Ara and deputy inspector general registration and stamp Sushil Khalko were present at the CM office. Representatives of national e-governance service limited and Bank of Baroda also joined the programme.
Baghel said that State Government had been making continuous efforts for the last three and a half years to improve the governance. The work of birth certificate, caste certificate, conversion, registration has become easier than before, he said, adding that it has been decided to establish 5 new districts and 72 new tehsils since the year 2018 for public convenience. State government is chalking out schemes and programmes in which their benefits reach the doorsteps of the people. Many decisions like direct payment to the bank accounts of women of SHGs engaged in various works, home access to 22 services related to RTO including driving license have led to simplification of work. Records like layout, Khasra, B-1 are now available online.
According to Baghel as many as 98 registrar offices are presently functioning in Chhattisgarh. By including this office of Nava Raipur, now 99 registrar offices will be functional, he said adding that these registrar offices have an important role in the development of Chhattisgarh. In the year 2020-21, Chhattisgarh got revenue of Rs 1589 crore from the registration of documents. Out of this, revenue of Rs 545 crore was received from Raipur district alone. This is 34 percent of the total revenue received through the registration department.
Revenue Minister Jaisingh Agrawal said that in the last two and a half years, the Registration Department earned more revenue than the target.
He congratulated the people of the area on the opening of new registration office in Nava Raipur. He said that 30 percent reduction in guide line rates for purchase and sale of land and exemption in registration fee has also been given. The people of the state are getting its benefits.
