Raipur: Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today said that with the opening of six Navodaya Schools , the State has made giant leap in development. He was speaking at village Dhudhli (Development block-Dondilohara) district Balod after inaugurating a Navodaya School. Five more Navodaya Schools were inaugurated at Narayanpur, Bemetara, Mungeli, Surguja and Balrampur districts simultaneously today.
Dr. Raman Singh added that the Central Government had sanctioned eleven Navodaya Schools including these schools. The other schools sanctioned are at Bijapur, Sukma, Kondagaon, Gariyabandh and Balodabazar districts. There are Navodaya Schools in all the 27 districts of the State at present. Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Union Human Resources Development Minister Mr. Prakash Javadekar for sanctioning the schools. The schools impart quality education to the students.
Dr. Raman Singh also laid the foundation stone and performed ‘bhoomipujan’ of the Navodaya School building. He sanctioned 185 developmental works worth Rs 22 crore. He dedicated 87 developmental works worth Rs 11 crore 37 lakh and laid foundation stones of 98 development works worth Rs Ten crore 42 lakh.
While addressing a mammoth public meeting Dr. Raman Singh said that Balod is a new district. The State Government had created nine new districts in 2012. New era of rapid development had started in all the newly-carved out districts. He added that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi a new era of development of the country had been ushered in. Referring to ‘Ujjwala’ project he revealed that five crore poor families are being benefitted with the allocation of domestic gas connections free of cost in the entire country. About eleven lakh poor families had been provided with domestic gas connections in Chhattisgarh till now.
Dr. Raman Singh dedicated several projects which included electric sub-station (Rs 2.73 crore) at village Bardakla development block Gundardehi, additional building (Rs 2.40 crore) at Dhanshyam Singh Gupt Government Degree College premises and Naveen Panchayat Bhawan (Rs 15 lakh) at village Chaarwahi development block Balod. Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Ramsheela Sahu, MLAs R. K. Rai and Mrs. Anila Bhendia, former MLA Mr. Lal Mahendra Singh Tekam and prominent citizens from the district attended the function.
