Debate Competition held at EMSS, Sector-VII as part of Vigilance Awareness Week

Bhilai, Oct 29: As a part of weeklong Vigilance Awareness 2021 a debate competition was organized by Vigilance Department of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant for the students of Class IX to XII at English Medium Senior Secondary (EMSS) School, Sector-VII on Oct 28 ’21.
Various schools from in and around Bhilai participated in the competition. The competition started with Integrity pledge being taken by all the participants, teachers and guests present. The pledge was administered by AK Singh, GM (Vigilance) BSP.
The topic of the debate, both in English and Hindi, was “Is self-reliant India possible only with Integrity”. The students were well prepared and expressed their thoughts passionately and with conviction. Some students spoke for the motion and some against the motion. Many thought provoking and justifying arguments were presented both for and against the motion.
The first, second and third prize for the motion in English was bagged by Jennifer Prasath (BSP, Sr Secondary School Sector X), Arshpreet Kaur (BSP, Sr Secondary School Sector VII) and Tanya Ghosh (BSP, Sr Secondary School Sector IV), respectively.
The first, second and third prize against the motion in English was bagged by Prisha KS (Sri Sankracharya School HUDCO), Parimal Kaur (BSP, Sr Secondary School Sector IV) and Arya Anand Nawlekar (BSP, Sr Secondary School Sector X), respectively.
The first, second and third price for the motion in Hindi was bagged by Master Sumit Kumar Singh (BSP, Sr Secondary School Sector X), Teshu Gautam (Sri Sankracharya School HUDCO) and Himani Chakradhari (BSP, Sr Secondary School Sector VIII), respectively.
The first, second and third prize against the motion in Hindi was bagged by Tanisha Gupta (BSP, Sr Secondary School Sector X), Anshika Tiwari ( Sri Sankracharya School HUDCO ), and Priya Kushwaha (BSP, Sr Secondary School Sector IV), respectively.
The judges for the competition were Shishir Shukla, GM (URM), BSP and Soumik Dey, GM (L&A) BSP. Both the judges praised the efforts of participants and wished them well.
The programme was compered by Sheeba Thomas, Lecturer, English Medium Senior Secondary (EMSS) School Sector-VII and coordinated by KS Sharma, Manager (Vigilance) BSP. Vote of thanks was delivered by RJ Raju, AGM, Education, BSP.
