Admission in virtual school soon for academic session 2021-22

Raipur, May 15: All the schools are remaining closed at present and students of Chhattisgarh State Open School too are unable to visit contact centres for study due to COVID-19 pandemic. In such a situation, it has become necessary to establish a virtual school using information technology. Therefore, Chhattisgarh Virtual School has been established under Chhattisgarh State Open School. Early entry into the virtual school will begin for the academic session 2021-22.
Due to the development of technology in the field of education, many countries have established virtual schools using technology. Countries like the United States and Australia have operated virtual schools for the past several years. These virtual schools serve the students who cannot study regularly in schools. Chhattisgarh State Open School has been entrusted with the task of conducting study of subjects in Chhattisgarh.
Students of Chhattisgarh State Open School were so far been provided reading material and opportunity to study in front of the study centers for a few days. Subsequently students joined the examination of the Chhattisgarh State Open School to obtain certificates The Chhattisgarh State Open School certificate is equivalent to the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education.
Chhattisgarh State Open School Secretary Prof VK Goyal said that students of class 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th will be able to take admission under the virtual school. All works like admission, studies and examinations will be done online in virtual school. For class 9th to 10th, six subjects including Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Science and Social Science etc. will be taught. Similarly, study on streams of Arts, Science and Commerce will be conducted for classes 11th and 12th. For class 9th and 10th all six subjects will be compulsory and for class 11th and 12th students can take admission by selecting streams of Arts, Science (Biology or Mathematics) and Commerce.
Chhattisgarh Virtual School Portal being developed by NIC will be available in virtualschool.cg.nic.in. In this portal, students can take admission in any course according to their choise and eligibility. Subject wise learning videos, study material, assignments, quizzes etc. will be available in this portal, which students can watch from anywhere through internet. Students will also have the facility to ask questions and discuss doubts with his / her mentor. The virtual school syllabus has been prepared by curtailing the syllabus of Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education by about 30 percent. Under the virtual school, the curriculum for each subject will be divided into 10 units.
The text related to each unit will be uploaded on the website as a PDF file and after preparation of the video lecture for each unit as per requirement, it will be uploaded on the website.
Assignments will be given for each unit of each subject. The first assignment will be issued to the students on the basis of the first unit. Students clearing assignment of first unit will have opportunity to see the study materials, video lecture and assignment of second unit. After passing all the assignments the students will have eligibility to appear in main examination.
