Notorious gangster held for extortion

Bhilai, Jul 13:
Police have arrested a notorious gangster on charges of extortion. He had threatened and extorted Rs 8 lakhs from a man and was further harassing him. Inspector Brijesh Kushwaha (SHO, Mohan Nagar) informed that under the directions of SP Prashant Thakur and guidance of ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw and ASP Vivek Shukla, they are conducting an operation to trap the absconding accused and are maintaining vigil on the anti-social behaviour. In this sequel, one Sandeep Kumar Srivastava made a written complaint against notorious gangster Vinod Bihari and Somu Bihari who were threatening him and had extorted Rs 8 lakhs. They were not returning the money and documents to him. Police lodged a complaint under sections 384, 34 of IPC and search operations were launched to trap the accused. During investigation, police came to know that Vinod Bihari was in Satna (MP) after which a team was sent there and the accused was taken in custody. The second accused Somu Bihari is still at large. The accused Vinod Bihari (52) son of Raj Vallabh Singh a resident of Deepak Nagar Durg was produced before the court and has been sent to jail on judicial remand. SI Dinesh Kumar, Head Constable Ashok Sahu and Constable Manish Agnihotri played vital role in arresting the accused.
